Worldwide Government and public become conscious on the significant long-term negative effect of the non-biodegradable products. Following are some of the action taken:

• Leaf Rapids town in Manitoba, Canada ban plastic shopping bags effective on April 2nd, 2007

• San Francisco will ban the use of Styrofoam effective on June 01, 2007

• US Environmental Protection Agency banned nonessential product including plastic foam product in 1999

• California, U.S. has banned the use of polystyrene foam food packing and will continue to enforce the Styrofoam ban ordinance by law.

• Taiwan regulation on the restriction of plastic bag and plastic disposable dishes, final revised in year 2004 (Chinese version)

• Different regulations in China, Japan, Korea, India, Nepal and Philippines to reduce pollution caused by plastic packages

• Bans on bags and other plastics disposables in Asia
